ACADEMIC ACTIVITY

PRESENTATIONS

During December 2000 through March 2001, I organized, coordinated, and presented the best city models of my 4th year Urban Design studios in a comprehensive exhibition at the Boston Society of Architects Gallery, Boston.  This exhibition was open to the Boston professional architectural community and to the general public.

In November, 1998, I presented two lectures at Goshen College, Goshen IN as part of the 20th anniversary of the Umble Center for the Performing Arts and the recognition of my role as architect for this building.

In November, 1997, I organized a housing conference at Wentworth Institute in which numerous architects presented their housing projects to the Wentworth design students, faculty, and to the public.

In October, 1997, I presented a paper on STREET STUDIES – ARCHITECTURE AS URBAN MODIFICATION to the conference of architectural educators at the ACSA Regional Conference, Newport, RI.

In May and September, 1996, I participated in the Boston Society of Architects Steering Committee on Washington Street and presented the work of the Wentworth 4th year architectural students at the conferences for the future of Washington Street.

RESEARCH

In 2002 and in 2003, I taught in the Wentworth Study Abroad Program in Berlin and continued my research and analysis of the past and present Berlin urban design and the architectural design of present buildings for the ongoing 4th year Urban Design Studio.

In 2002, I spent one week in Paris in research, photography, and analysis of the Marais area for the ongoing Urban Design Studio.

In Summer 2001 and in 2005, I participated in the annual Harvard Institute of Affordable Housing at the School of Design, Harvard, University, Cambridge, MA.  The topics of this course included the Development Process, Financing, Design, and Management.

In 1999, 2000, 2004-2007, I continued my research and analysis of Rome, Venice, Florence, Verona, and Siena Urban Design for the ongoing 4th year Urban Design Studio.
